anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do
so, I invite you to close your eyes.
Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:
Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your
stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate.
Scripture for Meditation
Revelation 2
KJV
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's
seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my
faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr,
who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there
them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a
stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things
sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the
Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight
against them with the sword of my mouth.
NASB
13 ‘I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold
firmly to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of
Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you,
where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you, because
you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who kept
teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel,
to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality.
15 So you too, have some who in the same way hold to the teaching
of the Nicolaitans. 16 Therefore repent; or else I am coming to you
quickly, and I will wage war against them with the sword of My
mouth.
Meditation:
For much of scripture there are people who seem to try to adhere to the true worship of God and also go along with the worship of other things and false Gods. This happens all throughout the Old Testament and even here in the New Testament. This was so important that it made the list of the Ten Commandments in fact taken apart this represents the first and second commandment.
We often look at these people as though they are silly and how backwards they are yet in our time this is just as common. There are plenty of things, groups that can represent a kind of idol in our lives. Do we go along with the idols of our time. Do we bow to them even if it is just to get along?
It might not be in obvious ways. It could be certain sins or moral stances that are at odds with God. It might be recreational activity that is positive but we allow to take preeminence in our life. Pause for a moment and consider if there are things you would like to reevaluate in light of this.
Meditation of Prayer:
Pray as directed by the Spirit.
Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him.
Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm:
I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials.
Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life:
