374 We Don’t Need to Defend Ourselves from The World, A Guided Christian Meditation on Daniel 3:16-18 with the Recenter With Christ app

I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain, my purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God. By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina:

Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization.

Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.

Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:

Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate.

Bible verses for Meditation:

Daniel 3:16-18

NIV
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.
17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.
18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

KJV
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up

Meditation on Scripture:

This story is a miraculous display of courage. Many times when we say we trust God what we mean is that we trust He will do what we think is right. I think this is a wonderful thing to challenge inside of ourselves. It is a powerful thing to trust in God even if he doesn’t deliver you how and when you think he should.

In this story the King created an idol and tried to force everyone to worship. This act of courage is a clear demonstration of real and powerful Faith. Open your heart to faith now. In this moment open yourself to the courageous type of faith. Feel within yourself where you courage resides. Reflect on your courage in the Lord.

Imagine yourself being courageous in doing the things you feel God wants you to do. I truly feel that courage is part of our personal development. God allows us to enter situations that require courage and tenacity, but when we come out the other end we can do so with even more faith and trust than before.

Meditation of Prayer:

Pray as directed by the Spirit.

Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him.

Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm:

I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials.

Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life:
