366 God Trusts Us With His Gospel, A Guided Christian Meditation on 1 Timothy 1:11-13 with the Recenter With Christ app

I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain, my purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God. By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina:

Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization.

Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.

Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:

Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate.

Bible verses for Meditation:

1 Timothy 1
KJV
11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

NABRE
11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
12 I am grateful to him who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me trustworthy in appointing me to the ministry.
13 I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and an arrogant man, but I have been mercifully treated because I acted out of ignorance in my unbelief.
14 Indeed, the grace of our Lord has been abundant, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Meditation on Scripture:

What is success in life? What is it that we want out of life? How much of that success is due to our own efforts and how much is due to luck? When we look at our life and our eternal destiny we can consider the same balance. We are enormously fortunate that the blessed God chose to scoop us out of where we have been and invite us into a path of Love and transformation. He considers us trustworthy of His gospel. Despite our failings he loves us and offers His abundant grace.

When things are difficult all around and we feel frustrated, sad, tired, or overwhelmed, consider that we have been counted faithful by Jesus Christ. Herein is our faith, not that we trust in our adherence to perfection, but we rejoice that the God of heaven has chosen to love us. How blessed are we.

Part of the good news of the Gospel that Paul is preaching here is that we do not need to constantly destroy ourselves for who we have been or things we struggle with. We learn to let those go to our loving God who deals with us with mercy as we place our faith in Jesus. As we trust our Savior we overcome our human weakness and rise up in the trust of the Lord.

Meditation of Prayer:

Pray as directed by the Spirit.

Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him.

Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm:

I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials.

Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life:
