370 Worthy Is The Lamb Who Was Slain, A Guided Christian Meditation on Revelation 5:11-14 with the Recenter With Christ app

I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain, my purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God. By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina:

Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization.

Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.

Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:

Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate.

Bible verses for Meditation:

Revelation 5
ESV
11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”
13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

KJV
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Meditation on Scripture:

I often have some message to apply scripture to our life. Here I want to take an opportunity to simply say. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Blessing and honor and glory and power be unto him that sits on the throne and the Lamb. I almost can't hear this music without thinking of the music from Handel’s Messiah. Such power in these words.

That Lamb here referred to is Jesus Christ who went like a lamb to the slaughter for our behalf. How grateful I am for that. Glory to God. The goodness and greatness of God do not need our acts of worship and praise, yet God offers us the opportunity to recognize His glory. God’s goodness is obvious and even the very stones of the earth could proclaim His goodness if He asked it. There is a peace that enters us as we acknowledge the eternal truth of the source of Goodness and light. Let the goodness of our God soften your heart to allow His love to touch your soul, to transform you in his image.

Spend time today, in this moment, thanking God for his goodness, thanking him for bringing light to our universe, for bringing love into us who so desperately need it. God loves you. The God of heaven. The one deemed worthy to sit on the throne of the universe, who is full of glory and deserving of honor, who offers His blessing. Praise be to God. May we feel his glory deep in our heart.

In the end, The heavens as well as the faithful on earth will declare together that Jesus is the Christ and is the only way back to the Father. Join in this worship by letting God touch your heart with this assurance today.

Meditation of Prayer:

Pray as directed by the Spirit.

Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him.

Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm:

I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials.

Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life:
