Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:

Listen to the world around you. Sit quietly and hold your muscles gently. Leave your Body totally still. Instead of trying to control this moment just notice it. God has created every single spek of air entering your lungs. Your lungs have been perfectly designed to breathe this air. You feel it enter your body. You feel it interact in your lungs infusing them with live giving breath. Hold your attention lightly. If your mind wanders bring it gently back to the feelings of this relaxing pure air entering your body.

All of creating declares to glory of God including this moment and the air you’re breathing. You feel your muscles all over your body infused with God’s gift of life giving breath. Let go of all need to force this moment. You notice your breathing is getting more deep and relaxed. Your mind is preparing to receive God’s word in the Bible.

Bible verse for meditation:

This scripture is in Luke 1

KJV

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

What though, image, impression, or memory accompanied this story. Reflect on that.

As prepare to read another translation look for the similarities and differences.

ESV

28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”

29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.

30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.

32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,

33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Meditation on scripture / bible verse meditation:

Instead of giving additional insights I will quote Mary.

38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Later she went to go visit her Relative Elizabeth.

46 And Mary said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord,

47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.

   For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;

49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,

   and holy is his name.

50 And his mercy is for those who fear him

   from generation to generation.

51 He has shown strength with his arm;

   he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;

52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones

   and exalted those of humble estate;

53 he has filled the hungry with good things,

   and the rich he has sent away empty.

54 He has helped his servant Israel,

   in remembrance of his mercy,

55 as he spoke to our fathers,

   to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

It is difficult for me to express my feelings about the high value of righteous women. I was raised by an amazingly righteous woman. There is a reflection of Mary in the heart of every woman. Righteous women magnify the face of the Lord. If you are a woman, embrace this in your heart. If you know any women, then live in such a way to help them see how they magnify the face of the Lord.
