034 Two Are Better Than One - A Guided Christian Meditation Podcast Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. How to feel God’s Peace.

I work as a Hospice Chaplain and having worked as an ICU chaplain in a busy hospital, my purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open to be changed by the Spirit of God by using a centuries old form of Christian Meditation called Lectio Divina.

It consists of: Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation, Visualization

Intro:We will begin with some deep breathing in order to remove distractions so that we can focus completely on God’s word. Get into a comfortable position and if you feel safe to do so, close your eyes

Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:Feel yourself resting on the chair where you are sitting. Hear the sounds that fall on your ears. Without a force of will, allow your focus to loosen. Let your focus slowly move along your muscles and notice any tension. Allow your tension to slide along your neck resting briefly at the base of your skull. Allow your focus to move down your back and rest softly between your shoulder blades. As you do this you feel the tension harmlessly escape with each passing breath. Your focus moves along your body searching for tension, freeing it and observes it be breathed out. As you do this, you feel your body fill will calm. Keep breathing slowly. Feel how good this calm feeling is. Allow the calm to grow and fill your whole body. Bask in this feeling. Allow it to wash over you. Allow this feeling to grow and be absorbed fully into your body. As you do you body relaxes fully and your mind is clear. Keep breathing deeply and calmly as I read from these scriptures. Allow your mind to remain clear and your body to remain calm as you are ready to receive the peace of the LORD.

Bible verse for meditation:Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.

KJV

9 ¶ Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

NIV

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:

10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?

12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

What does this scripture mean?

What message materialized as you listened to this scripture?

How does this scripture make you feel?

Meditation on scripture / bible verse meditation:

How are you blessed by those around you?

An inevitable truth of this life is that none of us are designed to live in complete isolation. Each of us receive strength from others. We receive strength from those we care about. This is why the scriptures counsel for the saints to gather. We strengthen each other and we help each other.

When is the last time you have been down and been lifted by someone else?

Who is someone who lifts you up?

When have you helped someone else in the same way?

As we learn to love and be loved we experience the most profound connection in life. There is nothing safe about caring about someone else. In fact caring about others puts us at risk for being hurt by loss or disappointment. When God chose to love us, this was not without risk either. It eventually led to the Cross. We love because he first loved us. Even if you wish you had more genuine connection in your life, know this, God is always with you and will strengthen you more than any person can. In our relationships Christ is always there to mediate. Think about ways that you could lift the spirits of those you know and care about.

Meditation of Prayer:Pray as directed by the Spirit.Pray now in a spirit of submission to Him.

Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling the strength from God and those you care about.Meditate and Visualize Positive Change in Your Life:What insights did you gain during these moments? What thing will change in your life after this moment?Share this message :Now visualize someone or a group of people who need this message. Imagine what their face would look like as they receive this scripture in their hearts. Imagine how you can share it with them.

Conclusion:Print and use this scripture.I release a new episode of this every Sunday morning at 1AM Mountain time in the US.You can get more information about my podcast by visiting my website ChristianMeditationPodcast.com.
